Founded in 2016, SFAU was initially created to help people receive eye surgery, medications or injections they needed to preserve their sight. A short 4 months later, SFAU was asked to help an inner city school provide eye exams for 95 students who failed their vision screenings. It was not long before we realized that access to vision care was a far reaching problem affecting all ages. This original 95 students has become thousands of students that we have helped see by providing glasses, follow up medical care and referrals for more serious issues. Our mission is to help all members of our community see, regardless of their ability to pay.
